Golf Marathon exceeds goals, helps children
Sire Advertising President
Shawn Felty played 126 holes
of golf on May 26 to raise $5,752
for two children’s organizations
in the Susquehanna Valley as
part of the Second Annual
Golf Marathon.
SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Second Annual Sire Advertising Golf Marathon raised $5,752 to benefit Setebaid Services, Inc. and the Selinsgrove Area Youth Foundation, two non-profit organizations dedicated to helping and improving the lives of children living in the region.
More than 70 individuals and businesses sponsored Mr. Shawn Felty, President of Sire Advertising, on Tuesday, May 26, at the Susquehanna Valley Country Club, where he played golf to raise funds for the two aforementioned organizations.
This year’s Golf Marathon exceeded all goals and expectations. Despite a persistent rain during the day, Felty played a total of 126 holes of golf between 7:15 a.m. and 6 p.m., up from 108 holes last year. In addition, contributions exceeded the last year’s total of $4,700 and this year’s goal of $5,000.
“I would like to thank all the individuals and businesses who helped us surpass our goal for this year’s Golf Marathon,” said Felty. “All of the proceeds will directly benefit the two organizations that were designated for this year’s charity fundraiser. It’s a great feeling seeing this event grow each year and support children in our region.”
