Sire launches Geisinger micro site
DANVILLE, Pa.— Geisinger Health System, one the region’s most respected names in healthcare, teamed with Sire Advertising for the development of www.geisingerbariatrics.org, a micro site designed to promote the organization’s Center for Nutrition & Weight Management.
After meeting with key personnel at Geisinger, Sire devised a strategic Web plan and search engine marketing (SEM) campaign to promote the Hospital’s nationally recognized bariatric program. At the onset, Sire researched keywords and phrases believed to be used by those searching for a site of this nature.
After conducting the initial phase of research, the team complied a selection of choices, which were included as part of the site’s organic SEM program. Web analytics have been setup, which allow Sire and Geisinger to continually track the site’s position with major search engines such as Google and Yahoo.
Overall, the site is an educational tool for patients and families of those considering bariatric surgery. This online resource is an important aspect of marketing the bariatric program; because studies show the target demographic do not feel comfortable leaving their homes. Thus, the Web site has been a great location to find general information such as nutrition and body mass index scores as well as Geisinger’s process for care, team of specialists, various accreditations, and seminar schedule.
One of the greatest testaments to any program is its power to generate results. This is also the case with Geisinger’s bariatric program. Sire decided to play up the success rate of the program by incorporating three client testimonials and photos into a flash feature on the homepage. Sire also incorporated notable designations, awards, and news links as part of the homepage layout.
