Felty recognized in Pennsylvania Business Central

Shawn Felty

State College— The Pennsylvania Business Central launched its first-ever “Four Most Under 40” program in a search to recognize the business community’s foremost movers and shakers under the age of 40. Sire Advertising President Shawn Felty was one of the four recipients selected to appear in the publication’s mid-October issue.

The article highlighted the ways in which Felty was able to grow the business since its inception in 2002. Experiencing tremendous growth, Sire nearly quadrupled sales after one year in business. After two years, sales rose again with an increase of almost 200%. Sire now serves over 150 clients throughout the Susquehanna Valley and beyond. In addition to PA-based clients, the firm’s reach extends into parts of New York, Ohio, Connecticut, Virginia, Georgia, Florida, Colorado, California, and Canada.

Candidates were chosen from within the publication’s 16-county coverage area, and nominated by local economic organizations for their success and dedication to business leadership. Felty’s accomplishments were recognized with a nomination from Bob Hickox at the Central Pennsylvania Chamber of Commerce.

“The Central Pennsylvania Chamber of Commerce nominated Shawn because of his company’s accomplishments over the past three years,” said Hickox. “His company is up and coming and has excelled in this highly competitive and specialized field. I have heard only positive comments about him and the group at Sire Advertising.”

Other business people who were recognized in the article include Joe Sheetz of the well-known Sheetz family; Amy Albrecht, a leadership student from Juniata College; and Nicole Mendicino, who has contributed to the community through active involvement in WEDO, and international organization advocating women’s equality in global policy.

In his article, Felty offered this advice to aspiring entrepreneurs. “Work hard to set yourself apart from your competition. In business, it is necessary to do whatever it takes to under promise and over deliver. This might require 12, 14, or sometimes 16 hours a day, but aim high, and always move forward in the direction of your goals. It’s also important to stay connected, work hard, and surround yourself with good people: employees, clients, and business mentors.”
