Sire Advertising named 2005 Small Business of the Year.

Watsontown—Sire Advertising was recently selected to receive the prestigious Small Business of the Year Award. Presented on behalf of the Central Pennsylvania Chamber of Commerce, an award was given to Sire President Shawn Felty at the organization’s annual meeting held in January.

“Since our inception in 2002, we have received a number of awards for excellence on the creative level. However, this recognition reaches beyond the creative to acknowledge the marketing component of our approach to advertising and business,” Felty said. “Our team has always been committed to helping each of our clients expand their businesses. We are honored to receive the Small Business of the Year Award and look forward to another successful year of growth and economic development.”

Members of the chamber nominated candidates for the award, and a panel of professionals from area businesses made the final selections. Central Pennsylvania Chamber of Commerce President Bob Hickox nominated Sire, and a variety of things were taken into consideration during the final selection process. At the top of the list were the organization’s contributions to the local economy and overall growth.

Since its beginning in 2002, Sire has experienced tremendous growth. Felty started Sire with one employee, and now has seven full-time employees. To accommodate the increasing client base and new hires, Sire moved from a small suite in Lewisburg to a larger office on Routes 11 & 15 in Selinsgrove.

Most recently, Sire received seven awards from New York City’s Graphic Design: USA and was invited to publish two logos in the San Francisco-based “Logo Lounge III,” a must-have resource for graphic design professionals worldwide. Sire was also recognized with an award from Atlanta’s Healthcare Marketing Report.

Sire’s commitment to business growth and the well-being of the community is manifest in the organization’s daily work. Although the firm’s client base encompasses more than 150 businesses in the Susquehanna Valley and beyond, Sire serves a significant amount of organizations that belong to the local chamber of commerce.
