Basketball camp scores with new image

With the 2006 camp season quickly approaching, Sire Advertising teamed with Susquehanna Valley Basketball Camp for a fresh approach to the organization’s advertising and marketing material.

One of Central Pennsylvania's most popular summer basketball programs, SVBC each year attracts the Mid-Atlantic's most talented junior players to the beautiful campus of Susquehanna University. Launching a campaign that appeals to a younger audience and accurately reflects the camp’s level of professionalism was key in promoting the 2006 program.

As of 2002, the camp's marketing materials had been virtually unchanged since the early '80s. Sire completed a revamp in 2002, which included a new logo design. At this time, Sire Advertising created a full-color SVBC brochure, which replaced an outdated tri-fold the camp had used in previous years.

The 2006 campaign includes a fresh brochure design as well as a Web site redesign and a print campaign to promote the organization’s three weekend camps and the one-week team camp. In keeping with the camp’s logo color scheme, the new series incorporated orange with yellow and maroon accents and featured an array of photos of past campers in action. Other campaign components include stationery and t-shirts.

“While developing the SVBC campaign, our goal was to create material that speaks to the camp’s audience,” said Sire President Shawn Felty. “I think our creative team was successful in appealing to a younger generation with the new design.”
