Writers Workshop identity now in place

Selinsgrove—One of only 27 programs selected by Early College Programs 2003 as a Best Value in Summer College Programs for High School Students, the Writers Workshop at Susquehanna University has become a selective weeklong summer camp accepting a limited number of top writing students each year. To solidify its image as a prestigious learning opportunity while promoting the camp to young writers across the country, the Writers Workshop in late 2002 was in need of a marketing package which would live up to its reputation as one of America's finest summer writing programs.

After discussing the purpose and goals of a new Writers Workshop identity with key workshop administrators, Sire Advertising began work on a Writers Workshop logo which would represent the level of instruction provided by the program while conveying both the workshop and Susquehanna University as a "fun" place to spend a week in July. By incorporating the school's colors into a logo which is both academic and exciting, Sire created a Writers Workshop identity now in use throughout all workshop collateral materials. Sire Advertising was also responsible for the design of the 2003 Writers Workshop brochure, a colorful promotional piece which replaced a one-color tri-fold the workshop had used in previous years.
